Mindfulness is the practice of bringing one’s attention fully into the present moment, free from judgment and distraction. In this state, we find the essence of presence—the ability to engage with life as it unfolds, moment by moment. Many mindfulness teachers emphasize the importance of stepping out of the mind’s habitual patterns, where past regrets and future anxieties often dominate, and returning to the stillness of the “now.”
The practice of mindfulness invites us to experience life directly, rather than through the filter of our thoughts.
